Jewish Home Family Hires Its First CEO

Ary Freilich, Chairman, Jewish Home Family

The Jewish Home Family – parent of the various Jewish Home organizations – is pleased to announce that it has hired a full-time chief executive officer and president. Our hiree has over 40 years experience in the adult care field and is intimate with every aspect of our organization and community. It is none other than our own Chuck Berkowitz, who will become the Family’s full-time head upon the completion of his existing contract as CEO of the Jewish Home at Rockleigh.

The Jewish Home Family is modeled on a classic university system. Family ‘members’ such as the Jewish Home at Rockleigh, the Jewish Home Assisted Living and the soon-to-be rolled out Jewish Home at Home will operate with high levels of autonomy and concomitant responsibility for their affairs. Members’ affairs will be directed by their respective executive directors, working in tandem with their respective boards of directors. The Jewish Home Foundation will serve as the fundraising agency of the Family and its members. The direction of the whole ‘university’ – the creation of inter-member harmony and efficiency, the economic and philosophical health of the entire organization and the pursuit of new institutional directions and general excellence – will be the province of the Family’s President and CEO. Who better than Chuck to take on this challenge, particularly during our increasingly complex organization’s formative period?

Our organization is 94 years old and is as dynamic now as it has ever been. We are fortunate to be facing the challenges and the opportunities for excellence we will face with Chuck at our helm.
