Alternative Medicine Program
A new program is being initiated that will benefit the members of the Jewish Home family by expanding and creating activities designed to enrich the lives of our residents and staff.
With your participation, a special fund will be created which will enable our administrative, marketing, and therapeutic recreation staff to provide proven alternative medicine activities for both our residents and staff.
These activities will provide mental and physical exercises for our residents, and alternate programs for our staff. They will employ stress reduction techniques such as yoga, tai chi, qi-gong, reflexology, aromatherapy, meditation, massage, guest speakers, exercise classes, dance and reiki.
We feel that we can markedly improve the quality of life of our residents through the use of these programs. Also, by offering these programs to staff, on their own time, we can help them reduce the everyday personal and work related stresses in their lives. Aside from the direct benefits this will bring to our staff, we believe these programs will produce indirect and meaningful benefits to our residents in the form of a more relaxed and loving work atmosphere.
The programs will be subject to review by members of our medical staff who have familiarity with the benefits of alternative medicine programs.
These programs will be made available to all residents and staff of the Jewish Home at Rockleigh and the Jewish Home Assisted Living facilities, as well as to the participants and staff of the Gallen Adult Day Health Care Center. Staff members who choose to participate, will be required to buy in to this program to assure their participation.
Your gifts, in support of these activities would be made to a special fund maintained by the Jewish Home Foundation and would be 100% tax deductible. Gifts can be made in honor of or in memory of a loved one’s special occasion, and/or in recognition of special caring acts on the part of staff members in the provision of caring for your family members. All contributions to this restricted fund will be acknowledged to the person(s) of the donor’s choice in accordance with the wishes of the donor.
